For the past 17 years, Apollo has invested his earnings as an Auror into the house and the surrounding acreage; building a home comprised of two reception rooms, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. It is an American styled home on English soil. All of the rooms enjoy views over the beautifully landscaped gardens or the extended New Forest countryside.
Ground Floor
Living Room
The two-story house opens up to the living room on the right, the dining room on the left, and the staircase straight ahead. The living room has an unpretentious and collected-over-the-time look; complete with distressed furnishings and vintage finishes. It has a balance of old and new while trying to invoke a relaxed and warmhearted welcome to guests who enter the home.
Dining Room
This comfortable yet clean-lined dining room is where Apollo hosts his more formal gatherings with friends and family. It comfortably seats eight, but the dining room table made of reclaimed wood is large enough to squeeze in an extra person or two. Outside of holidays, this room remains largely unused.
Kitchen & Family Room
The pride and joy of his home, Apollo spends most of his time here. Initially, there was another room attached in the back, but he knocked the wall down in order to create a larger space. Since then, Apollo has converted the open area into a family room, which is separated from the kitchen by an informal breakfast table. Apollo enjoys spending his time cooking in the kitchen and entertains most of his family and friends in this part of the house.
Guest Bathroom
The bathroom is fully equipped for any guest’s needs. There is, however, a slight inconvenience for anyone who is staying at Apollo’s home as the guest bedroom is upstairs while the only bathroom is on the ground floor.
Second Floor
Office
Up the staircase and to the immediate left is Apollo’s office. He removed the doors and put in the rustic panels with glass windows to give the space a more open and less suffocated feeling. He mainly uses this room to keep his small library of books and to conduct any correspondence to his cousins in Louisiana. All information he receives about the plantation’s business is kept here as well as any research he conducts for work at the Ministry.
Guest Bedroom
The guest bedroom is a modest room equipped to provide comfort to anyone in need of a place to crash for a night or two. Apollo is always up for an unexpected visitor, but he frequently finds himself using the bedroom as a place for his friends sleep off their hangovers from the night before.
Master Bedroom
At the end of the hallway is the master bedroom. It is a large room with a clean and stylish look of light walls and wood floors. At the end of the bed is an oversized window that overlooks the landscaped gardens and New Forest countryside.
Master Bathroom
Behind the wood panel wall of the master bedroom is the connected master bathroom. There is a large walk-in closet that houses all of Apollo’s wardrobe and other keepsakes such as photos and his childhood stuffed rabbit.
Grounds
Backyard
After the kitchen, the backyard is Apollo’s second favorite place to be. During the summers, he likes to host bashes in the backyard and goes all-out in their preparation with music, fairy-lights, and lots of good food. When it’s just him, Apollo enjoys sitting outside with a glass of scotch in the evening and watching the wildlife who wander into view. There are some trees to offer some privacy, but the backyard mostly opens up to the New Forest countryside.
Wildlife
When Apollo purchased the land, one of the most appealing parts was the abundance of wildlife in the area. The ten acres provides refuge for a variety of animals to call home such as foxes, rabbits, badgers, deer and the much beloved New Forest ponies.
