Welcome to Until The End. We are a moderate Harry Potter role-playing site set in the Marauder's Era. Our plot is generally derived from details in the book, but as an AU site we do take liberties most anywhere we like. Those who died in the books can have a second chance at living, and those who lived are always at risk.
Tom Marvolo Riddle has long since disappeared and in his stead Lord Voldemort has risen, bringing a small army with him. The Ministry of Magic has thus far ignored the growing menace that is the Death Eaters and Albus Dumbledore has taken it upon himself to defend the wizarding community from an evil he knows is building. War is coming. Pick a side!

Until The End has its own lore concerning werewolves that expands upon J.K. Rowlings' original ideas. This lore does not necessarily contradict the Potterverse lore, but fills in some of the blanks and alters some of the history.
Werewolves
A werewolf is a human being who, upon the complete rising of the full moon, becomes a fearsome and deadly near-wolf. This condition is caused by infection with lycanthropy, also known as werewolfry. Werewolves appear in the form of a wolf but, there are distinctions between them and regular wolves.
The Bite
While a Werewolf: Will infect another with Lycanthropy or kill the victim. A mixture of powdered silver and dittany applied to a fresh bite will seal the wound and allow the victim to live on as a werewolf, although tragic tales are told of knowing victims begging for death rather than becoming werewolves.
Most commonly Werewolves are wizards or witches as muggles do not typically have the know how to save themselves from the infection.
While a Human: Will give the victim peculiar tastes for raw meat.
Bites and Scratches, whether human or wolf, will permanently scar.
The Potion
Wolfsbane potion has yet to be created, though plot concerning wolfsbane is already being discussed. For future reference however, Wolfsbane potion is extremely difficult to brew and the ingredients are incredibly expensive. Taking the wolfsbane potion can ease the symptoms of lycanthropy in addition it allows the werewolf to retain their mind after the transformation.
The Transformation
The monthly transformation of a werewolf is extremely painful if untreated and is usually preceded and succeeded by a few days of pallor and ill health. The werewolf may display irritation towards friends. While in his or her wolfish form, the werewolf loses entirely its human sense of right or wrong.
The real difference between a wolf and a werewolf is in behaviour. Genuine wolves are not very aggressive, and the vast number of folk tales representing them as mindless predators are now believed by wizarding authorities to refer to werewolves, not true wolves. A wolf is unlikely to attack a human except under exceptional circumstances. The werewolf, however, targets humans almost exclusively and poses very little danger to any other creature.
The call from a werewolf’s own kind is the only thing that would distract and possibly stop an attack on a human.
Pack Lore
For as long as there have been werewolves, there have been packs, but due to the severe prejudice against Lycanthropy these groups have remained hidden from society. Though there have been attempts in the past to have organization and registration of the “infected”, these attempts have largely been seen as another way to ostracize and condemn the already condemned. Thus, the werewolves formed their own laws. Pack laws. And to a wolf within a pack, these laws are sacred, second only to the word of their Alpha.
There are only a few packs throughout the world, but they operate in secret, much like the wizarding community itself operates.
The Packs
Lead by Alek Eiriksen, the second born son of Eirik Eiriksen, the Eiriksen pack originally hales from Scandinavia but they are conquerors at heart and have laid claim to much of Scotland and the northern part of England. Alek has his eyes set on the whole of the United Kingdom, though he doesn’t intend to stop there. The Eiriksen pack values strength, bravery, and loyalty above all else. Killing is a sport for the Eiriksen pack, though they are smart about their attacks and any foolishness is met with swift and strict justice. They hold tight to ancient werewolf traditions, allowing only the worthiest of applicants to join their pack, a process determined through the archaic competition known as the Raun.
Belle Deveraux, the only daughter of Aldric Deveraux, leads the Deveraux clan with grace. Hailing from France, the Deveraux clan has opened their arms to any wolf looking for a harmonious life away from the cruelty of the wizarding society that has seen them all cast out of their communities and families. As a peaceful clan, the Deveraux werewolves do not seek out violence, though they kill without question when the need arises, but Belle knows that there is more than one way to skin a cat, and negotiations are the first defense against brutality. The Deveraux clan values loyalty, wisdom, and kindness.
