Welcome to Until The End. We are a moderate Harry Potter role-playing site set in the Marauder's Era. Our plot is generally derived from details in the book, but as an AU site we do take liberties most anywhere we like. Those who died in the books can have a second chance at living, and those who lived are always at risk.
Tom Marvolo Riddle has long since disappeared and in his stead Lord Voldemort has risen, bringing a small army with him. The Ministry of Magic has thus far ignored the growing menace that is the Death Eaters and Albus Dumbledore has taken it upon himself to defend the wizarding community from an evil he knows is building. War is coming. Pick a side!

Slim and delicate of frame, Lily's most outstanding feature is her vivid red hair. She may not think herself pretty, but she carries herself with pride and assertiveness.

Patronus
Silver fox; the day that she hexed a Slytherin who'd been bullying her in her third year.
Mirror of Erised
Herself wearing the Head Girl badge, hugging her sister.
Boggart
Severus Snape as a Death Eater.
Many people find Lily difficult to read, which is perhaps understandable since she frequently doesn't have any real idea of who she is herself. On the one hand, she is a dedicated and capable student, an intelligent girl with a knack for learning and no fear of hard work; she is possessed of a healthy respect for the rules and helps to enforce them as a Prefect; she is a favourite of many teachers for her determination to succeed in life. And yet...
She is not afraid to break the rules when she considers it to be necessary. Lily is perfectly happy and quite able to defend herself, both verbally and magically, and if something offends her natural sense of justice then she is sure to speak out about it and do her level best to change it. Combining a Gryffindor bravery with a measure of Hufflepuff loyalty, she chooses her friends carefully and will stick by them through thick and thin. It takes a great deal to make Lily give up on someone.

~ Character History ~
Lily was born to a happily married couple in 1960, in a small industrial town in the Midlands of England. This was where she grew up, along with her older sister, Petunia. The two formed a close bond despite the reasonable age gap between them, and were rarely seen apart during their early years. They attended the same Muggle primary school, where Petunia looked out for Lily. The family never had a lot of money- Lily's father worked in a factory, while her mother was a nurse working in a charity hospital- but they were never poor either, and Lily grew up in relative comfort. Although her mother, Irish by origin, was a lapsed Catholic, Lily herself never subscribed to any particular religion and was perfectly happy to say so. Her mother's religious background did lead to some problems during Lily's early life, however- a number of inexplicable occurrences took place around the girl, and Mrs. Evans was convinced that it must be some supernatural force at play. It was with great difficulty that she was restrained from having the house exorcised. She was proved at least partially right when Lily turned seven and met one Severus Snape, who explained to her that she was a witch. Obviously, the redheaded girl kept this information from her mother- the woman was insufferable when she was right- but she spent an increasing amount of time with the boy from the other side of the town, learning more and more about the magical world which he assured her that she'd be entering when she was older. Of course, Lily couldn't wait. Sure enough, on her eleventh birthday, a witch turned up on her doorstep accompanied by a letter inviting her to attend Hogwarts. Lily's parents were surprised at how calmly their daughter seemed to take it all- they couldn't have known that she'd been expecting it for years- but she was adamant that she wanted to go, and so, eventually, her parents agreed. On the first of September, Lily set off for Hogwarts. Much to her disappointment, she was sorted into Gryffindor House. The redhead had been aware right from the beginning that Severus wanted to be in Slytherin, but the Sorting Hat flatly refused to even consider her as a fit for that House, and so she and her best friend ended up in different common rooms. It wouldn't change anything, Lily told herself. Their first year passed mostly without incident. Lily dealt with some persecution from some of her Housemates who couldn't understand why she'd want to spend time with a Slytherin by ignoring it until it went away, or at least until she couldn't put up with it any more, at which point she considered it expeditious to punch the boy on the nose. In the short term, this didn't help much; in the long run, it helped even less. It was also during this year that she first came into contact with the idea of blood purity, and promptly decided that she hated it, which may or may not have had something to do with the fact that the details were explained to her by a pureblood who had her pinned up against the wall in order to punch her. If she hadn't enjoyed her lessons so much and made so many friends, the redhead might seriously have considered not returning... had she been a less determined person. As it was, she had learned that she had an incredible gift, and she was going to explore it to the full.
In later years, Lily found herself the subject of less abuse, possibly because she was no longer an easy target as a first year, possibly because she had proven herself a capable witch, and possibly because her talents at duelling were well-known. Whatever the reason, she did not, as one might have expected, take the opportunity to fade into the background and get on with her work. Of course, she did work, but she also never missed an opportunity to help out one of the younger students if they got into any trouble, particularly if they just so happened to be Muggleborn. Recalling her own confusion on first entering the magical world, the girl did her best to help other people in the same situation.
