Welcome to Until The End. We are a moderate Harry Potter role-playing site set in the Marauder's Era. Our plot is generally derived from details in the book, but as an AU site we do take liberties most anywhere we like. Those who died in the books can have a second chance at living, and those who lived are always at risk.
Tom Marvolo Riddle has long since disappeared and in his stead Lord Voldemort has risen, bringing a small army with him. The Ministry of Magic has thus far ignored the growing menace that is the Death Eaters and Albus Dumbledore has taken it upon himself to defend the wizarding community from an evil he knows is building. War is coming. Pick a side!

Dealing with posh people had its ups and downs, as far as government work went. On the one hand, the wealthy had means to move mountains which, for a politician or lawyer meant that you could get access to people, places, and information that was beneficial to your goals. For an Auror and a kidnapping and homicide investigation, however, it most often meant he would be faced with blockade after blockade of closed doors, and also that he made house calls in the middle of the day instead of witnesses, victims, and suspects coming into the MLE office to make a statement. The wealthy were privileged in many ways, as he could attest from the size of the Sayre's manor estate.
He had been assigned to the case months ago but was instructed to work it remotely so as to not interfere with more vital cases he'd already been working abroad. The orders came in yesterday, however, that his local partner on the case was not up to snuff, and he was to return to England to lead the case directly. He was dismayed to see that his rookie partner had made no headway whatsoever in the last 5 months since the events occurred, despite being hailed as a prodigy from the Auror Academy and even with Dorian's instructions coming in the post twice daily. Not sitting right with some wealthy family members of one of the victims no doubt, the Department Head had called on Dorian to return home, where he now found himself helming an investigation into a bizarre kidnapping of a wealthy heiress that resulted in the death of a separate Hogwarts student. It was a far cry from Dark Wizards and Death Eaters he'd been chasing across the globe, and honestly the seasoned Auror wouldn't have ranked it above his other open cases in terms of importance, but it was impressed upon the Auror by higher ups that this case be made top priority. Agent Humbert was slightly miffed with his new partner, Lex, for her inability to make any headway on the case at all, but it would be a learning opportunity for the up and comer, and Dorian knew even prodigies needed support, which is how Dorian came to be sitting in what was likely one of several large sitting rooms, awaiting Miss Sayre and her parents in attempt to clarify some details that weren't lining up.
